Pre Press Digital
Pre Press Digital's new Xerox DC260 is featured in the June Edition of Print Media Management
The Xerox 260 is one of the machines currently used to produce contract proofs. The argument is that they are more cost effective and produce colour accurate proofing that will match inkjet.
We know that our Epson 10600 produces brilliant Pantone correct colour, its fully calibrated and is run through a Harliquin RiP as well as the Kodak Matchprint RiP. Our C260 runs hrough a Creo RiP. It is fully calibrated as is Pantone approved. The DC 260 has 4 colour toners compared with 6 on the 10600,
It's all a matter of expectations. If you think digital is better than Transparencies/drum scanning
If you think typography has improved with desktop publishing, if you think a £250 A4 flatbed scan could ever be as good as one from a Crossfield
Then yes the DC260 will produce contact ready proofs.
Next we will have people telling us to work in RGB!

The start of December not only sees the long awaited launch of the Pre Press web site but also the installation of brand new Xerox DC260 full colour and Black and white DC4112 digital presses.
The 85 page per minute DC260 was to replace the older DC250 and DC12. With a pair of Creo RiPs, High capacity feeders and production finisher's on both machines, the continued investment means that we can offer faster turn around times and additional variable data options when linked to our online print procurement system.
