Accessibility Policy

Did you know there are more than 8 million people in the UK today with some form of disability?

Considering the needs of others

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Part III requires service providers to ensure that disabled users are not disadvantaged by design which fails to take account of their needs.
At Pre Press when designing for the Internet we take into consideration the needs of the disabled.

But accessibility is not just about disability; the same standards can be applied to ensure websites are accessible regardless of the device being used – for example mobile phones and PDA devices. Accessibility is really about good design and making things accessible and easy to use for everyone.

Expertise, advice and guidance

We offer advice and guidance on these issues to ensure your website is accessible to the widest possible audience. Our services include accessibility testing, user experience reviews, and advice on making your site inclusive to all visitors.

Accessibility involves two key issues.

How users with disabilities access electronic information.

How web content designers and developers enable web pages to function with assistive devices used by individuals with disabilities.

For the user with a disability, the challenge is to identify tools that provide the most convenient access to web-based and other electronic information. For the web content designer/developer, the challenge is to remove the obstacles that prevent accessibility tools from functioning effectively. In many cases, these challenges are relatively simple to overcome, but sometimes the solutions require some additional thought and effort.
